The world of reasons
'No' is seen as a rejection and 'yes' as acceptance. We are so full of ego, prestige and other variables associated with status, that one cannot accep
Natural sciences is fundamentally based on the notion of cause and effect. It tries to seek the reason behind the phenomenon under study to facilitate further diagnosis or prediction.
For example, why do people when climbing mountain peaks face respiratory issues? The reason behind is that the air gets thinner with increase in altitude. This knowledge (fact) has facilitated use of oxygen cylinders, etc while climbing peaks. This also explains low pressure at high altitudes.
Similarly social sciences tries to imitate this notion of cause and effect from natural sciences. And in this process, this notion has so engraved in our minds that we try to seek the reason behind any event or action that the other person has committed or been a part of.
Well man as a social animal has always been curious and one can blame this tendency of curiosity the 'reason' behind the craze of trying to seek the cause of any phenomenon.
If one has read 'looking for Alaska' by John Green, they would be in a better position to understand this argument.
But it is due to this very tendency, that people find it very hard to swallow 'NO' as an answer and we always have to substantiate it along with a reason in our daily lives. People believe that one cannot say 'no' without any reason. But here's a catch- we don't expect any reason to validate our 'yes' in everyday life.
'No' is seen as a rejection and 'yes' as acceptance. We are so full of ego, prestige and other variables associated with status, that one cannot accept rejection. "How dare one can reject me"- this notion is imbibed with power and authority- and thus to satisfy the power and ego, one goes out to seek explanation or the reason behind the denial and rejection. Well obviously there are some who can't even hear a 'No' and take it into their hands to destroy the life of the other.
We need to identify that this notion is attached to the process of social conditioning we go through. In the movies, media, advertisements, we find people seeking out, to find the unknown, the reason behind the series of events happening and threatening the other if they don't reveal the reason behind.
The tv screen reflects the society and at the same time reinforces the same values in the society.
But is there anything wrong in this notion or understanding? Why am I even writing this? Is it relevant to you?
Its better you seek out the answer to the unanswered questions above, and I take a leave.
