All the World's a Stage
Do you remember the poem by William Shakespeare- "All the World's a Stage"?
He suggests that the world is just a stage and all the men and women are players- a puppet in the hands of destiny.
You might choose to agree or disagree (as this poem was written in the 15th century), but today I find some bits of the poem to be true.
We might not be the puppet in the hands of destiny as Shakespeare suggested but in the hands of those who are powerful and wields authority.
Power, if legal, resonates that it is we who gave them the power in terms of Authority and if illegal, that too resonates that it is we who gave them the power in the form of fear.
Those in power feeds our fear and grows stronger and those in Authority find us to be too weak to open our mouth and protest against them.
The events that are happening around us, the news that we see, the social media we are using- all this has created a false image in our mind that we are free, breathing in a democratic space where we have the freedom of speech and expression and most importantly the right to life.
The Capitalist framework has made us to believe that we are the masters of our life and we have the freedom to choose.
But have you ever wondered- Where does the fear comes from? Who gives us the choices? Why do we suffer in silence? Why do we let other's suffer for our own selfish interests? Why do we propagate hatred? WHY ARE THINGS AS THEY ARE? AND ARE WE HAPPY FOR THE WAY THINGS ARE?
I don't have the answers to these questions but Do you?
